Since YWAM began in 1960 we have been running missions trips to countries all over the world. As a matter of fact missions trips, or short-term outreaches, were YWAMs primary ministry focus for the first several years of our existence. When our founders, Loren and Darlene Cunningham started YWAM, it was with a vision to equip and mobilize waves of young people to go and share Jesus with people in every nation of the world. Currently, the collaborative efforts of YWAM ministries globally, send outreaches to almost every country, every year.
Our mission trips allow us to regularly come along side seasoned missionaries and established ministries to cooperate with them in strategic ways that further the Gospel and impact the community. These trips also create a great opportunity for participants to grow in their own relationship with God and to contribute to the cause of spreading the message of Jesus around the world.
Mexico Adventures has been mobilizing churches, groups, and individuals for 1- week outreaches to Baja California, Mexico for over 30 years! Our teams build homes for needy families, serve at an amazing orphanage, or do various forms of outreach to the local community. As a group leader you can decide which kind of outreach you would like to do, and our seasoned team will take care of the details. These mission trips depart from San Diego every month and run year-round. Not only are these trips very affordable, they are life-changing, for your group as well as the recipients of your ministry. You can book your own trip or join an existing group.
Season of Service and Training (SST) is our summer missions program for teens. The SST is a powerful missions trip consisting of 1 week of training at our Mission Training Campus and retreat center in Chico, California and 1 week stateside outreach. These two-week mission trips are truly transformational for the students as they go deep in their relationship with God, discover the wonder of their identity in Christ and learn to make Him known. Discipleship Training School (DTS) – The DTS is a 5- month missions trip with the first 12 weeks spent at our missionary training campus and retreat in Chico California followed by an 8- week outreach to another country. We have been running DTS courses since 1989 at our Chico campus. Recent teams have been to Thailand, Uganda, Nepal, Mexico, and Albania. The DTS serves as a stand alone experience or as the gateway to full time missionary service with YWAM. Graduates of the DTS are also eligible for further YWAM training through our University of the Nations. We currently offer 4 versions of the DTS. Fall DTS (ages 18-25), Sports and Fitness DTS (ages 18-25), Crossroads DTS (ages 26 and up), Family and Marriage DTS (for married couples with or without kids). More information here.
